Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Jonesboro
Student Enrollment Agreement, 10-Day Trial Terms, Fees
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Jonesboro is independently owned and operated by Morgan Family Martial Arts LLC, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Part 1 – Student Enrollment Agreement
Welcome to the team! Our instructors are fully committed to every student's progress, and we ask the same commitment from you. This agreement explains how membership, billing, and cancellation work. In this agreement, “you” means the student, or, if the student is under 18, the parent or legal guardian signing on the student's behalf. “We,” “us,” and “the School” mean Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Jonesboro and Morgan Family Martial Arts LLC.
1. Who is signing. You certify that you are at least 18 years old. If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign and agrees to these terms for both themselves and the student.
2. Our commitment and yours. We will provide competent instruction and suitable facilities. All classes are supervised by qualified instructors trained in the methods and traditions of Gracie University. You agree to follow the School's rules, to stay committed for the full term of your membership, and you confirm that you (or your child) are physically fit to take part in the program.
3. Tuition, payment options, and automatic billing. Month-to-month memberships require automatic draft: tuition is charged each month to the debit/credit card or bank account (ACH) you keep on file and is collected on schedule. Cash or check is accepted for membership only for annual enrollment, at a discounted rate. Tuition is the same whether or not you attend. Memberships with a monthly class limit reset each calendar month, and unused classes do not roll over. Payment processing fees are explained in Part 3. Tuition is not refundable unless we terminate this agreement. In the event we do, we will provide a pro-rated refund for training that has not been provided.
4. Cancelling your membership. You may cancel at any time with at least 30 days' notice. Notice may be given only in person at the front desk during normal operating hours (using our cancellation form) or through our official member app. Any recurring bill that comes due during the 30-day notice period will be collected when due, and you are welcome to keep training during that period (or for 30 days after your last payment is collected). Tuition remains due until you give notice this way. Payments already made are never refunded retroactively. Any attendance cards are not kept or credited after you cancel. We do not accept any requests to cancel, pause, or change your membership via text, phone calls, email, or any other means not explained above.
5. Freezing (pausing) your membership. You may freeze your membership once per calendar year for up to two months. Freeze requests may be made only in person at the front desk during normal operating hours (using our freeze form) or through our official member app. A one-time $25 freeze fee is charged to process the freeze. Your regular billing is deferred during the freeze and resumes on the next scheduled billing date after the freeze ends.
6. How to request changes. Requests to change, pause (freeze), or cancel your membership are accepted only in person at the front desk during normal operating hours or through our official member app. We do not accept these requests by phone, text, or email. Verbal changes are not binding.
7. Respect, safety, and rank. Belts and other ranks are a privilege, not a right. You agree to treat fellow students, staff, and the facility with respect. If we decide your behavior or training practices are unsafe or disrespectful, we may cancel this agreement. If we cancel, we will refund any amount you have paid for training not yet provided.
8. Past-due accounts. A $10 late fee applies to any membership payment more than 10 days late. We reserve the right to assess an additional $10 every ten days the bill is outstanding after the due date. If your account becomes past due, you agree to pay the reasonable costs of collecting it, including late fees, administrative fees, collection agency fees, court costs, and reasonable attorney's fees.
9. Schedule changes and closures. We may change the class schedule as needed. We may also close for national holidays, illness, special events, and up to four weeks per year for maintenance or other purposes. Schedule changes and closures do not change your tuition or payment obligations.
10. Photos, video, and cameras. Photos and video may be taken during classes and School events. You give Morgan Family Martial Arts LLC (d/b/a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Jonesboro) permission to use photos, video, artwork, and other likenesses of the student, in any format now known or later developed, for marketing, advertising, promotional, commercial, or other lawful purposes, without time limit and without payment to you. For safety, security, and quality control, surveillance cameras are in use throughout the facility. Please do not photograph or record any class or training without the owner's prior permission.
11. Email. You authorize us to use the email address you provide for billing. Billing emails may include financial information about your membership. We also recommend every student check their provided email address regularly, as we often send important updates via email.
12. Not transferable. Your membership is personal and is not transferable to anyone else.
Part 2 – 10-Day Risk-Free Trial (if you chose the trial)
13. Trial length. Your risk-free trial lasts 10 calendar days in a row, starting the day of your first class. During that time you may attend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu classes. The trial is based on calendar days, not on how many classes you attend.
14. Uniform deposit. You pay a deposit for an official jiu-jitsu uniform to use during the trial. Bullyproof (ages 5-12) students pay the full price $65 of the uniform as the deposit. Adult students pay a $49 deposit.
15. If you enroll. If you enroll during or after the trial, we keep the deposit and the uniform is yours. When you enroll, adult students pay a $50 enrollment fee. Bullyproof (kids) students already paid the full uniform price as their deposit, so they pay only the $15 enrollment fee. The enrollment fee may be paid in cash or card.
16. If you cancel the trial. To cancel, come in person on or before the last day of the trial and return the complete uniform you were given, washed and free of stains and damage. You will then receive a full refund of your deposit. If you do not return the uniform by the end of the trial or within 5 business days after the trial is completed, you authorize us to keep the deposit and any remaining balance on the uniform plus tax and fees may be assessed on your on-file payment method.
17. After the trial. Your trial does not automatically turn into a paid membership. After the trial you may enroll in a membership through the official member app, or contact us for assistance. We may also contact you to help you choose a membership and sign up.
Part 3 – Fees
· Payment processing (convenience) fee: To cover payment processing, a convenience fee is built into each invoice: 3% on all debit and credit card transactions and 1% on ACH/bank draft transactions. You can avoid these fees by paying by cash or check for a membership of at least one year.
· Enrollment fee: Adults pay $50 at sign-up. Bullyproof (kids) students pay $15. The enrollment fee may be paid in cash or card (see Section 15).
· Late fee: A $10 late fee applies to any membership payment more than 10 days late (see Section 8).
· Downgrades: Requests to move to a lower membership level must be made in person at the front desk during normal operating hours or through our official member app (not by phone, text, or email). A $10 processing fee applies, and the change takes effect on your next recurring bill.
· Bullyproof belt fee: Gracie Bullyproof students are charged $45 to help cover the cost and shipping of each new belt. You authorize us to order the belt and charge your account when your child qualifies and is ready for promotion.
· Freeze fee: one-time $25 per freeze (see Section 5).
· Refunds: Except as stated in this agreement (the trial deposit refund in Section 16 and refunds when we cancel under Section 7), tuition and fees are not refundable.
